When you think of VTubing, you might picture flashy avatars, big personalities, and perfectly polished streams. But every VTuber starts somewhere, often from a spark that feels small but grows into something powerful. For SOAL, that spark began not with streaming, but with art.
In this VTuber Spotlight, we explore how a shy yet determined artist went from making avatars for others to building her own VTuber Avatar with lore, heart, and ambition. Her journey is proof that Vtubing isn’t just about performance, it’s about creativity, resilience, and the worlds you can bring to life.
Discovering Vtubing: From Art Commissions to a Creator’s Spark
Some VTubers are inspired by their favorite streamers. For SOAL, it all began with a random post.
“I first knew about VTubing through a suggested post. At first, I didn’t care about starting VTubing myself, I was just fascinated by the models, how beautiful and smooth they were. I wanted to make models like that.”
That curiosity turned into commissions. She started creating VTuber Models for other creators, and seeing those avatars live on streams gave her an unexpected joy.
“After making a few commissions and seeing people stream with the models I made, it made me happy. Soon, I found myself looking forward to trying it myself.”
It’s a reminder that VTubing isn’t built by performers alone. The artists, riggers, and model creators form the backbone of the community, shaping the identities of countless VTubers. For SOAL, that creative work became the first step toward imagining herself as a VTuber Creator, too.
Building a VTuber Avatar With Lore and Heart
Unlike some VTubers who focus on aesthetics first, SOAL started with a story. Her VTuber Avatar isn’t just a model, it’s a character with a world of her own.
“She’s a princess, though she doesn’t know it because her whole family died. Her people come from a special world where they have powers. She discovers her own abilities when she’s 12, she can travel to other worlds and gain special abilities based on those worlds. Her job is to fix everything and rescue people, but because her original world has fallen, glitches are affecting all the other worlds, making her powers unstable.”
This is more than backstory, it’s lore that invites fans into a living narrative. For viewers, SOAL’s streams won’t just feature a VTuber Avatar; they’ll feature a protagonist whose journey mirrors the creativity of her creator.
Why SOAL Chose a 3D VTuber Avatar (and Dreams of 2D Too)?
At present, SOAL performs with a 3D VTuber Avatar, but she’s already planning her next evolution.
“I’m currently using a 3D model, but I’m planning to make an even prettier and more complex 2D model. I’ll keep the 3D one because it’s unique and beautiful, but if I gain followers, I’ll definitely update it.”
This dual approach reflects a common crossroads for many VTubers. 3D models bring immersion and flexibility, while Live2D avatars are beloved for their expressive detail. For SOAL, both styles hold creative potential, and she’s not limiting herself to one path.
When Art Inspires the Artist: A Creator’s Breakthrough Moment?
For some, breakthrough moments are about numbers or milestones. For SOAL, they’re deeply personal.
“There were times when I looked at some of my art and fell in love with it. It’s a beautiful feeling that makes you appreciate your own work for days, just looking at it.”
That pride in her craft is the fuel behind her VTubing journey. It’s proof that success isn’t only about external validation; it can come from the quiet joy of recognizing your own growth.
The Hidden Challenges Behind Vtubing Dreams
Of course, every journey has obstacles. For SOAL, the biggest ones aren’t technical—they’re personal.
“I can’t really have privacy in my family. It makes me embarrassed just thinking about streaming. My family doesn’t really close doors unless we change clothes, so if I suddenly lock myself away, they’d get worried and ask questions. It’s understandable, but difficult.”
Add to that the fact that English isn’t her first language, and the challenge grows.
“I’m not sure about my voice either.”
It’s an honest glimpse into the human side of Vtubing. Behind every VTuber Avatar, there’s a creator navigating real-world barriers—whether it’s space, language, or confidence. SOAL’s openness about these struggles makes her story all the more relatable.
Connecting With a Community Before Streaming
Even without a regular streaming schedule yet, SOAL is already carving out spaces to connect with people.
She shares memes and art on TikTok (@s.o.a.l0), while on Reddit, she posts her artwork to broader communities. It’s a slow but steady way of building recognition and letting her creativity shine.
This approach highlights an important lesson: you don’t have to wait until you’re streaming to start being part of the VTuber community. Sharing art, lore, or even short-form content can help you establish your identity before your first stream goes live.
SOAL’s Advice to Aspiring VTubers: Passion Comes First
When asked what advice she’d give newcomers, SOAL keeps it simple but powerful:
“Choose VTubing only if you’re fond of it.”
In a space where some chase quick growth or viral fame, her words are grounding. VTubing is demanding, it requires time, effort, and emotional investment. Passion is what sustains creators when the numbers are slow or the challenges feel heavy.
What Keeps a VTuber Creator Going Through Hard Times?
So what drives SOAL to keep pushing forward despite the obstacles? Two things: resilience and love.
“My hard work and the mental difficulties I’ve passed make me stronger.” “Since childhood, I’ve loved art. It’s what drives me to keep creating.”
It’s this combination, discipline and passion, that shapes many successful VTubers. For SOAL, the act of creation itself is what brings purpose, whether that’s designing a VTuber Model or imagining new story arcs for her character.
Future Plans: Comics, New VTuber Models, and Expanding the Story
Ask SOAL about her plans, and her imagination overflows:
- Creating a comic based on her avatar’s lore.
- Designing a Live2D model with even more detail.
- Updating her 3D VTuber Avatar with new outfits.
She doesn’t see her VTuber Avatar as just a streaming persona, it’s a character who can live across multiple mediums. For fans, that means the future could hold not only streams, but art, stories, and maybe even full-fledged projects.

Why SOAL’s VTubing Journey Is Just Beginning?
At the time of this VTuber Spotlight, SOAL hasn’t officially launched her streaming career yet. But her story already embodies what makes Vtubing so powerful: the mix of art, imagination, and humanity behind every avatar.
Her journey shows that you don’t need to start big to matter. Even before the streams begin, her creativity is shaping a world that fans will one day step into.
And maybe that’s the takeaway here. VTubing isn’t just about polished performances, it’s about the people who dare to imagine and bring their visions to life, even when they’re still figuring things out.
For SOAL, this is just the beginning. And for those who follow her journey, it’s a chance to watch a creator grow, evolve, and bring a fantasy world to life, one model, one story, and one stream at a time.
